Every wedding is beautiful and every reception is customized and tailored to fit the bride and groom’s personality but when we walked into the reception space at Moses Community Center, we immediately knew we were in for a fun night and that Rosalyn and Jimbo were represented at every turn.  The day began with the wedding preparation at The Dansereau House in Thibodaux.   Rosalyn and her girls got ready in the beautiful third floor suite of this Thibodaux bed and breakfast.   Rosalyn and Jimbo decided on a “first look,” so after the bride and her girls were all dressed, we headed to the yard of the Dansereau House to meet Jimbo and the guys.   First looks are great if you really want some relaxed portraits of you two together because there isn’t a rush for time and the anxiousness of wanting to get to the reception.   If there’s enough time, we also like to make sure we get all of the formals done so that there is less to do in between the ceremony and reception – this is what we were able to do for Rosalyn and Jimbo.   Once we were finished with portraits, it was time to head to the ceremony at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux.   This is one of my favorite churches to photograph weddings in –  brightly lit and lots of room to move around and capture multiple angles!  Once Rosalyn and Jimbo exchanged vows and mass was over, it was time for the reception.   As I mentioned above, the reception spaces was very cool, decorated by Pretty Petals N Gifts of Vacherie.   Words can’t accurately describe all of the decor packed into this space so you’ll have to be sure to check out the images below!  From the huge, customized entrance banners and unique presentation of the favors to the MARGARITA AND WHISKEY BARS (yes, there were two completely themed and awesome bars!) this was definitely a nod to Rosalyn and Jimbo’s carefree and fun personalities!  With the guests drinking margaritas, Jack Daniels and moonshine, Snapper and the FishSticks kept everyone on the dance floor all night long.   We always enjoy working with this band at Thibodaux wedding receptions!   Another vendor that we enjoyed working with for this wedding was Brandon Morgan of Brandon Morgan Videography who drove from Pineville – he and his wife were easy to work beside and with and very sweet.

Besides all of the wedding details mentioned above, I just have to take a second to write about Rosalyn and Jimbo.  From the moment I met them last year for their engagement session, I knew I’d love working with them.   They were both so laid back and just enjoyable to be around – they even popped a champagne bottle mid-session!
